As we bid farewell to another year at Joyce Guinness, it’s time to reflect on the 2023 journey – remarkable for many reasons. The year has been defined by growth, challenges, and the countless achievements of my team here- each member bringing distinctive expertise and triumphs.

Despite a rather weird and wonderful market, the team was tirelessly busy, welcoming, and seeking opportunities in 2023. We kept the faith over the mid-year whilst anticipating a pick up after the summer holidays, however, pick up it did and 2024 looks to be off to a cracking start. Our gratitude extends to the diverse range of industries and clients we’ve had the privilege to collaborate with.

We have seen an increase in salaries since pre-pandemic, but now a leveling off and stabilisation. Employee well-being has gained further traction, with an increasing number of companies, of all sizes, implementing comprehensive packages prioritising overall health. We have also seen the recruitment process become longer and more rigorous, even for the more junior roles.

AI / Chat GBT poses a tricky enticement to candidates; whilst encouraged to produce CVs that work well within AI screening, we are advising cautious use of AI-generated content in CVs, and even more so in test tasks being issued.

We have taken on some outstanding new clients this year, spanning interiors, family offices, art consultancy, schools, finance, charities, property, alternative investment, and travel. Within these sectors we’ve successfully placed over 100 permanent candidates, and countless temp roles too. Testament, I feel, to the dedication of the team, as well as client and candidate faith in our ability to deliver.

We take immense pride in our commitment to connecting individuals with our cherished clients and fostering relationships that go beyond mere placements. These partnerships have become the foundation of our business, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and growth.

As the holiday season approaches, we extend our warmest wishes to you. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and here’s to a bright and promising 2024 for us all.
